This one-of-kind piece pays homage to the iconic 2004 Iraq War photograph known as Marlboro Marine. He's the face of a young veteran generation that has "gone through hell and come home changed". The series speaks to the affects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, both external and internal.
A version of this piece won the Spencer Museum's Juried Art show in 2013. This piece won Best in Show at the Emporia Arts Center Veteran Artist Exhibition 2014, was featured in MAAA Citizen-Soldier-Artist exhibition, and shown in a veteran artist exhibition at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts.
